What Pores?

The Clarisonic Brush is a hand held brush that has oscillating bristles that vibrate to deep clean, correct, and perfect your skin! It's a way of exfoliating that you can use everyday. One of the best things about this brush is that its antibacterial; all you have to do is clean off your brush head by using soap and water.

You can chose from three different types of brush heads depending on the tolerance of your skin. The Clarisonic Brush has a timer that can control how long or short you want to use it for. This will truly help your skin at any age, whether you have teen acne or mature skin! This is fabulous!

The Clarisonic Brush was rated in Oprah's top must haves along with Sephora and many, many others!

*If you buy the pink Clarisonic Brush proceeds will go towards the Breast Cancer Foundation*

Skin Urgency!

Over the weekend apparently my hormones decided to go full force on me and before I knew it I noticed a little cluster of belmishes on my chin! Annoying! I tried leaving the area alone so it wouldn't get any worse so I decided to put some IMAGE Clear Cell Masque spot treatment on the area to prevent myself from picking! I noticed a huge difference when i woke up this morning! This stuff works wonders!

IMAGE Clear Cell Masque works as a fabulous spot treatment! It comes in a medium size tube that will last you forever! The whole IMAGE Clear Cell line is a great for acne and controlling breakouts!

Directions to use spot treatment: Prep the skin by cleansing and toning. Then squeeze a TINY bit of  the IMAGE Clear Cell Masque onto the tip of your finger and gently dab onto each impurity. Let the masque sit for maximum 15 min. then remove with cleanser. Do NOT fall asleep with the masque on, It will cause post-inflammation (a.k.a a dark spot that can leave a scar)!

Tone it up

One of my favorite toners is by Dermesse Skin Care. The Dermesse toner comes in a small round container with pre toner-filled pads. These toner pads fit oily/acneic skin. The pads help to kill acne bacteria and help the overall tone in the skin. The first couple pads you will use may cause dryness and redness. If these symptoms intensify try using the Dermesse pads fewer times a week!

I use these Dermesse pads a couple times a week; especially when I'm breaking out! I notice after a couple times of using them my breakout is more controlled and my skin looks more even toned!

Best Cleanser!

So I just ran out of one my professional cleansers and I needed something quick! I went to Walmart and I bought Cetaphil- Normal to Oily cleanser! I love it!! My skin has been looking so good lately, it feels so balanced and doesn't make me break out!

I always thought since I have more oily-prone skin I always needed to have something super aggressive, that left my skin feeling tight and dry. This gentle cleanser by Cetaphil has been fantastic!  It can work for all skin types!

*Rated on of the best over the counter products in Allure magazine*

Back to Basics

Let's all get our pen's and pencils and start writing down those new years resolutions; lose ten pounds, get out of debt, and of course achieve flawless skin! Don't forget your skin! Fact: did you know out of all the nutrients that you put into your body your skin is the very last to get any nourishment?  Ladies we need to start now to take care of our skin... it won't be too long when the day comes that you wake up with three age spots and wrinkles galore!

Before we get too carried away lets get to the basics of skin. Three words: cleanser, toner, moisturizer. These three things are key into starting any kind of skin regimen. We all know the girl that can wear her makeup to bed and wake up looking refreshed and almost perfect the next morning, right? Pay no attention!!

Step One: Cleanser
Cleanser is the first and most important step out of all three! It gets off most if not all makeup and oil. Washing your face every morning and night is crucial! Imagine that your face was equivalent to washing down your back patio from dirt and leaves. When you wake up in the morning is it still perfectly clean the way you left it- dirt free? No! Although you may wash your face at night you can still get build up of bacteria, oil, sweat etc. all over your face.

Step Two: Toner
Toner is like using bleaching wipes- it does most of the dirty work and gets the job done. Toner helps remove and left over residue while giving you a tight finish without over drying.

Step Three: Moisturizer
This completes the whole package. Moisturizer brings your skin back to a neutral place and balances the skin. Key things you will want to look for on the back of skin care product labels are: Non-Comedogenic, Hypoallergenic, Fragrance Free, Alcohol Free. Each of these things prevent breakouts and keep your skin healthy!

Welcome to Oh My Spa!

Hey everyone,
My name is Mallory Jarvis. I'm a licensed esthetician, who loves beauty and helping others gain confidence in their own skin. I specialize in all types of skin--don't be embarrassed of your bare face, I've seen it all. I'm here to help! I am just like all of you- I've suffered with acne, starting to notice wrinkles and of course trying to find all the magic lotions and potions to slow down the aging process! Growing up I was always mesmerized by the Neutrogena models on TV with their flawless, pore-free skin. I soon found myself going and trying every last beauty product out there. Yet, nothing seemed to make a difference. I wanted to know the tricks of the trade, the beauty secrets. That's when I decided to go to aesthetic school- IMAj Institute in Scottsdale, AZ. I then realized I was (of course) doing everything wrong! I now have so much knowledge, beauty tips and helpful facts to share! Stay up to date with the blog to make a change in your lifestyle and start looking fabulous!

I'm starting this blog to educate, inspire and celebrate beauty! Let me know if you have any skin questions or comments.
